Mottingham Silks flags
What a wonderful time we had displaying the Mottingham Silks flags!
Our colourful procession went to the end of Kimmeridge Road and back.
Truly traffic-stopping designs by the local community!
The flags celebrate Mottingham under the following Themes:
The parade was part of a community celebration at St. Edward’s Summer Fair. This was the first display of the finished flags.
This project is being delivered by community arts company Kinetika in partnership with St. Edwards and StEP.
Designing and painting the flags
Community Arts company Kinetika came to Mottingham in February and April 2022 and worked with local groups to design and paint silk flags using the Batik method.
Some wonderful designs emerged. Thanks to St. Edward’s for providing the space and to everyone who worked on the flags.
